Creative Artists Agency player agent Leon Rose will become New York Knicks president on March 1, The New York Times' Marc Stein reports.

Rose verbally committed to the role in early February and spent the following weeks severing the professional relationships with the players he represents, Stein adds.

Reports surfaced Feb. 6 that the Knicks were nearing an agreement with Rose, but team owner James Dolan released a statement shortly thereafter to say New York was still searching for the right candidate.

The 59-year-old Rose has represented a number of NBA stars, including LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Joel Embiid.

Rose is expected to hire a replacement for interim head coach Mike Miller at the end of the season, according to Stein.
