The New York Mets agreed to a minor-league deal with infielder Eduardo Nunez, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

It's a non-roster invite, according to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez, which means Nunez will compete for a roster spot when the Mets convene for spring training next month.

Nunez spent the past two seasons with the Boston Red Sox and slashed .228/.243/.305 with two home runs and 20 RBIs across 60 games in 2019.

The 32-year-old was an All-Star in 2016 and is a career .276 hitter.
