LSU quarterback Joe Burrow and linebacker Patrick Queen were named the offensive and defensive MVPs of the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Burrow threw for 463 yards and totaled six touchdowns (five passing, one rushing) while leading LSU to a 42-25 victory over Clemson. Queen contributed eight tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, and half a sack.

LSU fell behind early at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Monday, but Burrow brought the Tigers back before halftime and they all but coasted to the championship in the second half.

The Heisman Trophy winner notched the most touchdowns in a title game during the BCS/CFP era. He finished his campaign with an FBS single-season record 60 touchdown passes, and Burrow led LSU to a 15-0 record that included seven victories over teams that were ranked in the top 10 when they squared off with the Tigers.

The senior will now turn his attention to the NFL draft, and he's heavily favored to be the Cincinnati Bengals' first overall selection.

Queen, meanwhile, can return to Baton Rouge for his senior campaign. His standout play in the championship game was part of the reason Clemson went 1-for-11 on third down, and he helped prevent opposing quarterback Trevor Lawrence from getting into a groove throughout the contest.
