The Minnesota Frost signed goaltender Maddie Rooney to a three-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Rooney starred for the Frost in the PWHL Final versus the Ottawa Charge. She entered the series in Game 2 and made 105 saves on 108 shots, allowing just one goal in each contest as the Frost captured their second straight Walter Cup. Rooney went 5-0-0 in the postseason overall.

The Minnesota native posted a .907 save percentage and a 2.07 goals-against average in 19 appearances during the regular season.

"Maddie has again and again proven herself to be an elite goaltender in the PWHL," Frost general manager Melissa Caruso said. "She consistently makes big saves in critical moments, and she plays the net with an incredible level of focus. Keeping our goaltending tandem together for next season was a priority because they have been so crucial to our success. Getting a long-term commitment from Maddie is a great reflection of how she feels about our organization."

Nicole Hensley, the other half of Minnesota's goaltending duo, has one year left on her contract.

Rooney originally signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2023. She backstopped Team USA to gold at the 2018 Olympics.
