Spieth, Day, McIlroy top year-end World Golf Ranking
After a historic season that saw him take home a green jacket at Augusta, a U.S. Open title at Chambers Bay, and three more wins on the side, Jordan Spieth will cap off 2015 atop the year-end World Golf Ranking ahead of fellow young stars Jason Day, and Rory McIlroy.
'14 Rank | '15 Rank | Player |
---|---|---|
9 | 1 | Jordan Spieth |
8 | 2 | Jason Day |
1 | 3 | Rory McIlroy |
4 | 4 | Bubba Watson |
2 | 5 | Henrik Stenson |
10 | 6 | Rickie Fowler |
6 | 7 | Justin Rose |
19 | 8 | Dustin Johnson |

Spieth first captured the No. 1 ranking from McIlroy after finishing second at the PGA Championship to Day - who stood atop the rankings for the first time in September after winning the BMW Championship.
With a combined age of 76, Spieth, Day, and McIlroy are by far the youngest trio to top the year-end ranking in golf history:

Other notable rankings include Zach Johnson rising from No. 18 to No. 13 after winning the Open Championship at St. Andrews, while Kevin Kisner remarkably jumped 219 places to No. 17 after winning the RSM Classic in November - but not before four runner-up finishes earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has now dropped to 416th in the world despite being No. 1 as recently as March 2014.
