VIDEO: Bubba Watson schools fan with sand wedge approach
One thing professional athletes don't take seriously: advice from fans.
As was the case in the final round of the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands for Bubba Watson on the par-4 2. The left-swinging golfer was nestled on the rough, with a batch of trees obstructing his path to the green.
As he walked up to the ball, a fan advised the 2010 Travelers champ to fly under the trees wielding a 4-iron. Watson simply told the onlooker, "That's why you're on that side of the rope," and grabbed his sand wedge.
His shot arched magnificently over the jungle, and stuck the green four small feet away from the pin for an easy tap birdie.
"Who's got the 4-iron punch?" Watson asked the crowd as he moseyed toward the green.
