Billy Horschel withstood a late charge by Jim Furyk to capture the Tour Championship and win the 2014 FedEx Cup.

Horschel shot 2-under on the day to finish 11-under for the tournament, three strokes ahead of Furyk and Rory McIlroy. McIlory began the final day tied with Horschel but shot 1-over, while Furyk was 3-under on the day until bogeying the final two holes.

Horschel earned $1.44 million for winning the tournament and a $10-million bonus for capturing the FedEx Cup. The University of Florida alumnus did the school's celebratory Gator Chomp after winning, attracting a mixed reaction from the Georgia crowd.

Horschel's career earnings were $4.5 million prior to 2014. He entered the playoffs at No. 69, becoming the first to win the FedEx Cup after starting lower than No. 19.
