PHOTO: Payne Stewart's daughter strikes her father's iconic pose at Pinehurst
Payne Stewart's daughter Chelsea, at the U.S. Open in Pinehurst, N.C., to collect an award in her late father's honor, took some time Thursday to stop by his iconic statue on the 18th hole at Pinehurst No. 2.
Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open by one stroke over Phil Mickelson, and celebrated with his one-legged fist pump. He died a few months later, after a tragic airplane accident.

Payne Stewart was awarded the Bobby Jones Award by the United States Golf Association, the USGA's highest honor, recognizing "an individual who demonstrates the spirit, personal character and respect for the game exhibited by Jones, winner of nine USGA championships."
Chelsea and her mother Tracy accepted the award on Payne's behalf.
"My dad taught me that in life, as in golf, you don't always land in the fairway. Playing from the rough builds character." Chelsea Stewart
