Xander Schauffele and Sam Burns were looking for extra motivation after being grouped for an early morning start in Sunday's final round of the PGA Championship.

With the pair well behind Scottie Scheffler and no chance of winning, Schauffele and Burns came up with a unique scenario to help spur on some strong play.

"Xander and I joked to start the day, if we both shot 62, we were getting matching tattoos," Burns told CBS Sports, according to Alex Myers of Golf Digest. "We were giving it our best early, and it looked pretty good."

Tattoos appeared to be on the table for most of Sunday as the duo got to work early in the round at Quail Hollow. Both players were 5-under walking onto the 15th tee, but they sputtered over the challenging "Green Mile" closing stretch.

Burns finished with a 4-under 67, while defending champion Schauffele carded a 3-under 68 - the lowest rounds of the tournament for both.
