Xander Schauffele withdrew from this week's The American Express, the PGA TOUR announced Monday.
The TOUR didn't disclose a reason for the World No. 2's absence. Philip Knowles will replace Schauffele in the tournament's field.
Schauffele played in The Sentry in early January and opened his 2025 season with a T-30 finish. He also participated in the TGL's long-awaited debut last week.
The two-time major winner isn't the only high-profile golfer sidelined for The American Express in California. Scottie Scheffler announced that he'd miss the event after cutting his hand on broken glass while preparing dinner on Christmas Day.
