Home cooking wasn't enough for Charlie Woods in his first try at qualifying for a PGA TOUR event.
Tiger's 15-year-old son didn't advance to the Monday pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic in Florida.
The younger Woods fired a 16-over 86 on Thursday in a round that included a 12 on the par-4 seventh hole. However, he did card six pars on the back nine.
The Cognizant Classic, formerly known as the Honda Classic, will be played Feb. 29 through March 3 at The Palm Beaches.
Charlie has competed in the last four editions of the PNC Championship with his father, and the duo finished as the runners-up in 2021. The younger Woods has also played in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship with Tiger as his caddy.
The Cognizant Classic features a $9-million purse, with $1.62 million going to the winner. Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, and defending champion Chris Kirk are among the players who've already committed to the event.
