Tiger Woods is set to compete in his first non-major PGA TOUR event since October 2020 with the Genesis Invitational next week in Pacific Palisades, California, Woods announced in a tweet Friday.

The 82-time TOUR winner has only played in majors since the Zozo Championship, which was held in October 2020. A few months after that tournament, in February 2021, he was in a car accident that resulted in serious injuries to both his legs. He didn't return to an official event on the TOUR schedule until the Masters in April 2022.

Following the Masters, Woods played in two other majors for a total of three events in the 2021-22 TOUR season, his last official start being the Open Championship in July. Since then, he has competed at the PNC Championship and The Match in December, but neither are official TOUR events.

The 47-year-old Woods hosts the Genesis Invitational, which is played at Riviera Country Club. The tournament is set to begin Feb. 16, and as one of the TOUR's designated events for 2023, will have a purse of $20 million.
