Norman: LIV door 'open' for players like JT, McIlroy

Greg Norman says LIV is still open to even some of the most outspokenly loyal TOUR members if they're interested in joining his league.

"We're not the PGA TOUR," Norman said, according to Bunkered Magazine's Michael McEwan. "We're not like that. We exist for the players, so we will always have an open door, whether that's for Rory (McIlroy) or Jordan Spieth or Justin Thomas or whoever."

Norman also mentioned he had previously spoken with Thomas about his rival circuit, saying: "I mean, we talked to JT. Me and another member of my team, we sat down with him and gave him the full presentation and, if you notice, he's not said much negative about what we're doing, presumably because he knows it and understands it."

Both Tiger Woods and McIlroy recently made comments about Norman in regards to his position as the face of LIV.

"I think Greg needs to go. I think he just needs to exit stage left," McIlroy said in November. Woods later echoed the need for Norman to step down as CEO.

Norman previously responded to those comments, claiming he doesn't pay attention to what Woods and McIlroy say.

"They have their agenda for whatever reason," Norman said. "They're saying whatever they want to say. It has no bearing or effect on me. I'm going to be with LIV for a long, long period of time."

LIV's second season is set to begin in February in Mexico. Six other tournaments of what will be a 14-event schedule have already been announced.
