Scheffler to begin TOUR Championship as top seed, Cantlay leaps to No. 2
With the conclusion of the BMW Championship on Sunday, the FedEx Cup Playoff Eligibility standings are now set. That means we know who'll start where at next week's TOUR Championship.
Players won't all begin the tournament at even par. A golfer's FedEx Cup ranking will determine their starting score.
Scottie Scheffler, who enters next week's event as the No. 1 seed, will start the TOUR Championship at 10-under. Two strokes behind him at No. 2 will be Patrick Cantlay, whose win Sunday moved him up five spots from No. 7.
Will Zalatoris will start at 7-under as the third-ranked golfer. He held the top spot after his win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week, but his withdrawal from the BMW Championship on Saturday left it for the taking.
Xander Schauffele and Sam Burns, who round out the top five entering next week, will start at 6-under and 5-under, respectively.
Some players were able to advance to the top 30 following this week's tournament to make the TOUR Championship. Adam Scott and Scott Stallings, who previously weren't included in the rankings, jumped to Nos. 29 and 12, respectively.
Others used the weekend to improve their positions for next week's event. Corey Conners advanced five spots from No. 29 to No. 24, moving him from even par to 1-under.
