He won't be donning his sixth green jacket Sunday evening, but it was still a special day at Augusta National with Tiger Woods in his trademark red shirt on the course.

Woods began the day 16 shots behind leader Scottie Scheffler, but the final round was more of a celebration for the five-time champ in his return to action following the horrific car crash 14 months ago.

Here's the hole-by-hole report from Woods' Sunday at the iconic course.

First nine

No. 1

Woods appeared to be laboring more Sunday off the opening tee than he was all week, which is to be expected after 54 grueling holes. His swing looked sharp in sending one 295 yards down the left side, and his approach was his best of the week at No. 1 to leave 29 feet for birdie. After a dismal putting display on Saturday, Woods' first Sunday putt looked strong, coming inches from the hole for a stress-free par. Score through 1: Even (+7 overall)

No. 2

While walking may be difficult for Woods, swinging doesn't appear to be an issue. The 46-year-old belted a 335-yard drive down the second, and a towering long iron from 230 yards landed just left of the hole, scooting to the back fringe to set up a 30-footer for his third. Another solid putt left a tap-in birdie to get Woods to 1-under on the day - his best start to a round this week. Score through 2: 1-under (+6 overall)

Another booming drive from Woods left him with just 26 yards for his second to the elevated green at the short par 4. The pin at No. 3 on Sunday is one of the trickiest on the course; Woods couldn't keep his ball within 20 feet, leaving an extremely fast putt for birdie. He handled it with ease, though, getting down comfortably with two putts to par the hole. Score through 3: 1-under (+6 overall)

No. 4

The longest par 3 at Augusta demands a precise long iron off the tee, but Woods yanked his to the greenside bunker on the left. A lengthy bunker shot to a tricky pin left 12 feet for par, the type of distance that gave him plenty of trouble Saturday. He couldn't convert, settling for a bogey on No. 4 for the second time this week. Score through 4: Even (+7 overall)

No. 5

The most difficult hole on the first nine is where the round began to unravel yesterday for Woods, and the struggles continued on Sunday. Despite a strong drive, another approach that fell short left him with a tricky chip up the hill. His chip raced by to leave 10 feet for par, and after the putt slid by, Woods posted his 17th bogey of the week, the most of his professional career at the Masters. Score through 5: 1-over (+8 overall)

After a solid start to his day, it's clear the wheels have come off a bit for Woods. Another loose iron to the par 3 left him with a very difficult downhill pitch from the right side of the green. Woods was unable to get up-and-down, carding his third straight bogey to drop to 2-over on the day. Score through 6: 2-over (+9 overall)

No. 7

Some bad luck on Woods' tee ball saw a strong drive take a bad kick and land just off the fairway in the second cut. Blocked out from going at the green on his approach, Woods managed to carve a fade into the front bunker. An excellent shot from the sand left a short par putt that he converted to end his run of bogeys. Score through 7: 2-over (+9 overall)

No. 8

Woods continued to pound the ball off the tee, with a towering drive down the center of the fairway putting him in great position on the par 5. A solid 3-wood left less than 50 yards for his approach to the back pin, and Woods skipped a wedge to within 12 feet for a good look at birdie. Another putt just past the hole forced him to settle for par. Score through 8: 2-over (+9 overall)

A great drive down the hill set up a wedge to the heavily elevated green at No. 9. Woods' approach looked solid in the air but fell a couple of feet short of the top plateau, rolling back to leave 25 feet for a closing birdie on the first nine. The putt looked good before barely burning the edge on the way by. A tap-in par saw Woods go out at 2-over 38, marking a one-shot improvement for that stretch compared to both Friday and Saturday. Score through 9: 2-over (+9 overall)

Second nine

No. 10

Woods played the difficult 10th at 1-under earlier this week, but he ran into trouble Sunday with his tee shot hooking left into the trees. His only option for his second was to pitch back to the fairway, leaving just over 200 yards to the hole. Woods showed some vintage form on his third, as his towering iron was all over the flag and settled just five feet from the hole. He knocked it in for an incredible par save. Score through 10: 2-over (+9 overall)

No. 11

The longest par 4 on the property has proved difficult for Woods, who had bogeys on it Friday and Saturday. A booming drive left 203 yards from the top of the hill to the green protected by water on the left. Woods left his approach out to the right, setting up a delicate pitch to a tough pin. Another missed up-and-down dropped him to 3-over for the day. Score through 11: 3-over (+10 overall)

No. 12

It's not often someone can improve their score on a hole by seven shots, but that's what Woods did Sunday. The last time Woods played No. 12 during the final round, he recorded a septuple-bogey 10 - his worst score ever on a hole in his PGA TOUR career. This time around was much more comfortable, with an iron to the middle of the green off the tee and a two-putt for par. Score through 12: 3-over (+10 overall)

No. 13

Woods birdied No. 13 in all three rounds before Sunday and set himself up for another with a solid drive down the fairway. Unfortunately, he caught a bad break on his second, as it cleared the creek but took a horrible bounce to the left into the bushes. Forced to hit his third shot left-handed, Woods sent the ball trickling onto the putting surface. He managed a two-putt from there, salvaging par on the course's easiest hole. Score through 13: 3-over (+10 overall)

No. 14

Woods yanked his drive to the right and once again found himself forced to pitch out back to the fairway. His third from 130 yards ended up 27 feet from the hole but was on the wrong side of the cup, leaving a treacherous downhill putt. Not even Woods could navigate such a task, as his putt took off and raced some 37 feet past the hole. While most would be thrown off by such a result, Woods calmly stepped up and ran the bogey look into the center of the cup, sending the patrons into a frenzy. Score through 14: 4-over (+11 overall)

No. 15

To score at Augusta, one must take advantage of the par 5s. Woods failed to do that Sunday on the second nine. With the new tee making the hole play over 550 yards, Woods couldn't attempt to get home in two and was forced to lay up for a full wedge to the green. His third left him with 21 feet for birdie, but his uphill putt didn't threaten the hole as he walked off with a par. Score through 15: 4-over (+11 overall)

No. 16

It was 17 years ago today that Woods played arguably the most famous shot in Masters history at the 16th, and the five-time champion received a raucous ovation as he took the tee at the iconic par 3. A solid tee shot that played the slope funneled down to leave 15 feet for birdie. Woods gave it a look but narrowly missed on the right for another par. Score through 16: 4-over (+11 overall)

No. 17

Woods yanked his drive into the second cut on the left-hand side and once again was left without a shot at the green. He tried to play a huge hook to the putting surface but left it out way right. His pitch just eased onto the front edge and left him with 37 feet to save his par. Unfortunately, he not only missed his par, but he three-putted to walk off with a double-bogey 6. Score through 17: 6-over (+13 overall)

No. 18

Woods nearly provided a storybook finish on the 72nd hole at his first event in over 500 days. After a great drive and solid second shot left 16 feet for birdie, Woods just missed the putt on the left-hand side before tapping in for par for his second consecutive 6-over 78. Score through 18: 6-over (+13 overall)
