The upcoming Father's Day might be an expensive one for Rory McIlroy after what happened on Thursday at the Masters.

Faced with a difficult approach from behind the trees on the par-4 seventh at Augusta National, the four-time major champion's iron shot ended up heading into the gallery and striking a fan in the leg. That fan? His father, Gerry.

Thankfully, Gerry would be fine, and he ended up joking afterward to CBS Sports' Kyle Porter about receiving an autographed glove for his experience.

Unfortunately for the younger McIlroy, the errant approach was an accurate representation of his opening nine at Augusta National, as he shot a 3-over 39.
