Koepka withdraws from Players Championship due to knee injury
Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from The Players Championship next week due to a knee injury, the PGA Tour announced on Sunday.
"Brooks strained his right knee and he is scheduled to further consult with doctors this week to receive a more extensive evaluation and outlook," Koepka's manager Blake Smith said. "We will be able to provide additional updates and information as we learn more."
The 30-year-old has dealt with several injuries in recent years, including left knee and hip issues that kept him out of the most recent U.S. Open.
Koepka was slated to be in one of the tournament's featured groups alongside Patrick Reed and Jon Rahm.
He won the Phoenix Open in early February for his eighth PGA Tour title, and Koepka finished tied for second last week at the WGC-Workday Championship.
