Genesis Invitational: Everything you need for the Tour's stop at Riviera
The PGA Tour heads to Los Angeles this week for the Genesis Invitational from the prestigious Riviera Country Club.
The event hosted by Tiger Woods will feature 120 players for one of the Tour's three "elevated status" tournaments (the Memorial Tournament and Arnold Palmer Invitational are the other two). It carries a $9.3 million purse with $1.674 million going to the winner.
However, due to recent back surgery, Woods won't play but will be at Riviera performing his host duties.

The course

Riviera is a 7,322-yard, par-71 venue considered one of "America’s iconic golf courses" by The Fried Egg's Andy Johnson.
It features unique and well-designed holes, including the par-4 10th, which many think of as the best short par-4 in golf. The greens are complex and guarded by deep, well-placed bunkers. The par-3 6th famously has a bunker positioned right in the middle of the green.
Jordan Spieth recently called it one of his favorite courses in the world, which makes sense considering he's also found a lot of success at Augusta.
The course draws comparisons to Quail Hollow due to its length, with J.B. Holmes and James Hahn winning at both venues since 2014.
"The Riv" has hosted the event formerly known as the Los Angeles Open 57 times, the most of any venue since the inaugural tournament in 1926.
