Medinah Country Club lands 2026 Presidents Cup
Medinah Country Club's No. 3 course will host the 2026 Presidents Cup, the PGA Tour announced Friday.
The event was originally set to be played at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, which hosted the 2020 PGA Championship, but the city-owned venue opted to instead become the full-time PGA Tour stop for a new event hosted by NBA superstar Steph Curry, according to The San Francisco Chronicle's Ron Kroichick.
Medinah has previously hosted a number of marquee events, including three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, the 2012 Ryder Cup, and, most recently, the 2019 BMW Championship won by Justin Thomas.
The Chicago-area property will undergo a redesign in time for the 2026 matches. Medinah hired former U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy's design firm to renovate the layout and make it more relevant to the modern game, according to Andy Johnson of The Fried Egg.
The 2022 Presidents Cup will be played at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the event then heads to Royal Montreal in 2024.
