2020 Augusta National Women's Amateur canceled
The 2020 Augusta National Women's Amateur has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the tournament announced on Monday.
"We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 (Augusta National Women's Amateur)," Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said. "Each player who accepted an invitation will be invited to compete in the 2021 championship, provided she remains an amateur."
The event, which was supposed to take place April 1-4, was originally postponed and will not be rescheduled, unlike the Masters.
Augusta also canceled the 2020 Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals, an annual competition for junior golfers held prior to the Masters.
Jennifer Kupcho defeated Maria Fassi in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur last year.
