The 2010s were a fantastic stretch of golf. Tiger Woods dominated the decade for both on- and off-course reasons while many world-class talents emerged.

As 2019 comes to a close, Tiger's still at the top of his game and the sport is flush with young stars ready to carry it through the next 10 years. Simply put, golf could not be in a better place.

Before the page is turned to 2020, here's a look at the 10 best single-year performances over the last decade:

10. Dustin Johnson (2016)

Johnson won 18 times in the 2010s to tie Rory McIlroy for the most over that stretch. He was extremely consistent, but 2016 stands out from the rest with his lone major championship coming at the U.S. Open.

9. Tiger Woods (2013)

Woods' 2013 season is often forgotten due to the injuries that plagued his past 10 years. But four victories and his second Players Championship resulted in Player of the Year honors in what would be Tiger's last winning season until 2018.

8. Rory McIlroy (2019)

McIlroy ended the decade in style with four titles including his first Player Championship. He set the new mark for single-season earnings with $24.3 million thanks to his giant FedEx Cup winner's prize. However, it was his performance in major championships that prevented this campaign from being even better.
