McIlroy, Matsuyama headline featured groups for WGC-HSBC Champions
The PGA Tour heads to Shanghai for the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event, the final leg of the Asian swing.
Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, and 2018 champion Xander Schauffele headline the 78-man field competing for the giant $1.845-million winner's prize. As with all WGCs, the group in China is loaded with players from a variety of worldwide tours. However, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson, two staples at WGCs, were forced to skip the event as they recover from knee injuries.
