Zack Sucher tops congested leaderboard after Round 2 at Travelers

Zack Sucher carded a 5-under 65 in Round 2 of the Travelers Championship to carry a two-shot lead into the weekend.

The 32-year-old Sucher, who is making only his fourth start on the PGA Tour this season, sits at 11-under par through two days at TPC River Highlands. He's made just one bogey in 36 holes.

Chez Reavie and Keegan Bradley both carded 65 and 66 in Rounds 1 and 2, respectively, to get to 9-under par and share second place.

Paul Casey and Jason Day are the highest-ranked players within four shots of Sucher. Day carded a 7-under 63 on Friday, which was his lowest round since 2017. A whopping 25 players are within five shots of the lead.

Three-time Travelers champion Bubba Watson was inside the top 10 before he bogeyed his final two holes to drop to 5-under and a tie for 26th.

Matthew Wolff (2-under) and Viktor Hovland (2-under) both made the cut on the number in their first starts as professionals.

Phil Mickelson, who was making his first start at the Travelers in 16 years, missed the cut after shooting 76 in Round 2. Jordan Spieth joins Mickelson in the group heading home early.
