Tiger commits to WGC-Mexico Championship; puts hometown event in jeopardy

Tiger Woods committed to the World Golf Championship in Mexico on Wednesday, a tournament he's won seven times prior to its move south of the border.

With his entry into the tournament, playing in the Honda Classic in Woods' hometown of Jupiter, Fla. is now in jeopardy.

"Yeah, I'm playing next week," Tiger said in his Genesis Open press conference. "Beyond that, I haven't really decided what I'm going to be doing."

The Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship follow the Honda Classic on the schedule, two events Tiger regularly attends. Playing in Jupiter would create a rare stretch of five straight tournaments for the 43-year-old.

The WGC-Mexico Championship begins Feb. 20 at Club de Chapultepec in Mexico City.
