John Senden fell victim to some faulty equipment during the first round of the Australian PGA Championship, as the shaft of his driver crumbled during his downswing on the par-5 ninth.
Here's a better look in slow motion.
After meeting with a rules official, it was determined his whiff counted as a stroke. Since the ball never moved, he was forced to hit again as it was already set up, and, without a driver at his disposal, Senden had to hit a 3-wood from an unfavorable position on the tee.
He ultimately made a bogey after all the drama.
