DeChambeau wins Shriners Hospitals Open for 5th career title
Bryson DeChambeau fired a final-round 66 to win the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open by one shot.
DeChambeau, who was jockeying for position with Patrick Cantlay throughout the day, drilled a 57-foot eagle putt on No. 16 to grab sole possession of the lead at 21-under. He would par the 18th to seal his fifth career PGA Tour title.
The 25-year-old strung together four rounds of 66 or better at TPC Summerlin and now jumps to No. 5 in the world golf rankings.
DeChambeau's victory in Las Vegas is his fourth during the 2018 calendar year after grabbing three titles last Tour season, two of which came in the FedEx Cup playoffs. It's his third win in his last five starts.
Cantlay, last year's Shriners champion, finished alone in second after a 65 in Round 4.
Rickie Fowler made a valiant run on Sunday, shooting an 8-under 63 to finish in a tie for fourth.
Peter Uihlein, who led after each of the first three rounds, shot 75 in Round 4 to finish in a tie for 23rd.
It was a disappointing start to the new season for Jordan Spieth, who shot 72 on Sunday to finish outside of the top 50.
