PGA Tour Latinoamerica is bringing its season-ending event to Trump National Doral in Miami, Fl., the Tour announced on Wednesday.

“We are very happy that we will continue playing the Latinoamerica Tour Championship-Shell Championship in South Florida, and Doral is a tremendous community that we know will open its arms to our players and this tournament,” said Jack Warfield the president of PGA TOUR Latinoamerica.

However, it will not be returning to the Blue Monster course that famously hosted a PGA Tour event for 53 straight years, rather the Golden Palm course on the same property.

Doral played host to a World Golf Championship event on the PGA Tour for 10 years before it was moved to Mexico in 2017.

The discussion to move the PGA Tour tournament away from the Miami property occurred around the same time Donald Trump began his presidential campaign and made inflammatory comments towards Mexicans and immigrants in 2015.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the best talent on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica to Trump National Doral when they take on the Golden Palm for their final event of the season," said Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization. "The golf course is in impeccable shape and ready to challenge many of the best players in the world."
