Mickelson praises Tiger: This 'is the best I've ever seen him swing the club'
Phil Mickelson continues to be impressed with his long-time rival's comeback, heaping praise on Tiger Woods after his Tour Championship win.
"He's been playing some remarkable golf," Mickelson said of Tiger at the Ryder Cup on Tuesday, per the Golf Channel. "This is the best I think I've ever seen him swing the club, even going back to 2000 when I thought that he was at his best."
Mickelson wasn't surprised by Tiger's victory at East Lake because of how he's been hitting the ball all season, suggesting it's the first of many.
"He's striking it so solidly that nobody was surprised that has played with him that he won," Phil added. "I think that now that the first win is out of the way, I think he's going to start rattling off some more."
The 48-year-old doubled down on his praise of Tiger, taking to Twitter to reiterate his thoughts. He also added he'll be asking for a shot a side for their Thanksgiving head-to-head match.
I just played with Tiger today and it is the best I’ve ever seen him swing the club. It is so on plane and solid. I’ll be asking for a shot a side for our Thanksgiving match. I doubt I’ll get it though.

Mickelson was also asked about the potential of being paired with Woods during this week's events in Paris. The two played together in 2004 but they ultimately didn't mesh well, adding to their career-long rivalry.
"I think we would both welcome it," Mickelson said, according to Action Network's Jason Sobel.
But is it on captain Jim Furyk's radar?
"I do have an idea of what captain Furyk is thinking, yeah," he added with laughter.
