Tiger Woods shot a 5-under 65 on Monday to close a rain-soaked BMW Championship, finishing in a tie for sixth after putting himself in contention multiple times throughout the day.

With temperatures taking an extreme dip in Philadelphia Pa., Tiger showed up to Aronimink Golf Club on Monday morning facing a five-shot deficit and rocking an iconic red sweater, perhaps the same one he wore while winning the 1997 Masters.

He opened the round with a birdie on the first hole, and then added back-to-back birdies on No. 5 and 6, getting to within two of the lead early. After making four on the par-5 9th, Woods made the turn at 4-under and was in the mix.

However, entering the final round five strokes back meant Tiger would likely need to go bogey-free on Monday, which went out the window with a dropped shot on No. 10.

He added three more birdies and a bogey to his card on the back nine, at one point getting within a shot of the lead, but had to settle at 17-under for the event after holding the lead following an opening-round 62.

With his performance at Aronimink, the two-time FedEx Cup winner secured his spot in the Tour Championship, which also qualifies him for the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.

Tiger will have a week off with the rest of the Tour, then the season finale begins on Sept. 20.
