Bryson DeChambeau turned in a remarkable 8-under 63 during Round 3 at the Dell Technologies Championship on Sunday, putting on the memorable performance in front of someone he's looked up to - Tiger Woods.

"He's my childhood idol," DeChambeau said, per Golf Channel, when asked what it was playing inside the ropes with Tiger for the first time. "I grew up admiring him and trying to be like him, and to be able to play for the first time here in Boston ... that was fun. That was something I will never forget."

The two have built a surprising friendship this season by playing multiple practice rounds together, but DeChambeau admitted he still felt nerves playing alongside Woods for the first time in competition and was blown away by the crowd.

"Sometimes my ears were ringing because it was so loud," DeChambeau added about the boisterous fans at TPC Boston. "Everyone was riled up - Tiger's going to create this big crowd."

Even with the added distractions that come with being paired with Woods, DeChambeau put himself in a great position Sunday to win back-to-back FedEx Cup playoff events as he enters Monday's final round one shot behind leader Abraham Ancer. Only Vijay Singh has won the first two legs of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

With speculation swirling about potential Ryder Cup captain's picks, a DeChambeau-Woods pairing in Paris is becoming a strong possibility as the two continue to play very well.

Earlier this week, DeChambeau said he and Tiger could "intimidate some people" if they were paired together in France. Woods responded to that claim after seeing first hand exactly what the 24-year-old can do.

"Yeah, if he goes out and shoots 8-under par like this every time - that'll work," Woods said with a grin, per Golf Channel.

Tiger's final round begins Monday at 12:15 p.m. ET, while DeChambeau will be in the final pairing at 1:45 p.m. ET.
