Phil Mickelson's dance moves were the talk of the town Thursday after Mizzen+Main released a commercial of the boogieing left-hander for everyone's enjoyment.

But the commercial may not have seen the light of day without Mickelson's wife, Amy, and a classic dance move.

"They showed some of the videos like they had done like with Tim Tebow and J.J. Watt and they said, 'We have this idea about dancing,'" Mickelson said, according to The Action Network's Jason Sobel. "Obviously, it's not the thing I'm most comfortable doing. But then Amy said, 'You should just tell them that you know how to do the worm.' So after she said that, it was over, we were doing it."

After his opening-round 66 at the WGC-Bridgestone, Mickelson apparently couldn't stop smiling while discussing the commercial shoot.

"I think it's fun to laugh at yourself," he added. "I could've said no, but what's the point of that? When you have these moves, you have to show them off."

The commercial spread like wildfire, with PGA Tour members weighing in on Lefty's dancing abilities; Bubba Watson even asked for lessons.

"I'll do privates," Mickelson told him. "For the right price."

In case you somehow missed the ridiculous commercial, here's some must-watch entertainment.
