Spieth: 'Dream come true' to battle with Tiger at The Open

Sunday's final round at Carnoustie will be extra special for Jordan Spieth, as he'll chase another Open Championship title, this time with Tiger Woods in the hunt.

"I've always wanted to battle it out in a major with Tiger, who hasn't," Spieth said in a press conference after Round 3 on Saturday. "It's kind of a dream come true just to have the opportunity.'

That chance will come Sunday for the 24-year-old who can become a back-to-back Open Championship winner. He'll take his four-shot lead over Woods, one he shares with Xander Schauffele and Kevin Kisner, into the final round.

Tiger's four-shot deficit may seem too substantial to overcome, but according to Spieth, the tournament remains wide open.

"It's pretty much a new golf tournament tomorrow," Spieth added, referring to the bunched leaderboard and forecasted 25 mph winds. "It means that someone could post a score from six hours before and potentially win the golf tournament."

History proves Spieth isn't wrong, as the last two winners of The Open at Carnoustie came from 10 and six shots back in the final round to win.

Whether it's Tiger or anyone else lurking a few shots behind the leaders, Carnoustie's tendency to show its teeth on Sundays leaves the Claret Jug up for grabs.
