David Hearn fired a 7-under 64 in Round 2 at the John Deere Classic Friday, giving him a one-shot clubhouse lead over Francesco Molinari.

The Canadian - who lost to Jordan Spieth in a playoff at the 2013 John Deere Classic - hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation at TPC Deere Run and carded eight birdies on the day.

Hearn sits at 12 under for the tournament after opening the event with a 66.

Molinari continues to impose his will over weak PGA Tour fields, shooting a 5-under 66 to follow his impressive 65 from Thursday. He's in a great position to claim back-to-back Tour wins.

Birdies were abundant in Friday morning action, with multiple golfers firing in the mid-60s. John Huh holds the low round of the day with an 8-under 63.
