Dustin Johnson torched TPC Southwind Friday, grabbing the early lead at the St. Jude Classic with a 7-under 63 in Round 2.
Johnson got off to a slow start after a couple of early bogeys put him at even-par through six holes.
However, an eagle hole-out from 111 yards on No. 1 initiated his remarkable second-nine, as he went on to make four more birdies to card a 29 coming in.
The 2016 U.S. Open champ finished his second round at 10-under for the event while leading in strokes gained: tee-to-green.
With a win at the St. Jude Classic, the former No. 1 ranked golfer in the world can regain that title ahead of next week's U.S. Open.
