Tiger Woods is in favor of players being allowed to show some leg during PGA Tour events.

During a Facebook Live with Bridgestone Golf on Thursday, Woods voiced his opinion that the Tour would do well to abolish its pants-only rule.

"I would love it," Woods said, according to Dylan Dethier of Golf.com. "We play in some of the hottest climates on the planet. We usually travel with the sun, and a lot of our events are played in the summer, and then on top of that when we have the winter months here a lot of the guys go down to South Africa and Australia where it's summer down there.

"... Even with my little chicken legs, I still would like to wear shorts."

The European Tour permits players to wear shorts in practice and pro-am events, while the PGA Championship allowed players to wear shorts during practice rounds for the first time last season.

Woods and caddie Steve Williams famously clashed with PGA Tour officials over the rule at the 1999 "Showdown at Sherwood," an exhibition match against David Duval. The caddies wore shorts, as it wasn't an official Tour event, but were ordered to change into pants. Williams refused and was reportedly told that he would be banned from caddying on the tour.

Woods interrupted the conversation, saying, "Guess I'll be playing in Europe next year." Not long after, the Tour announced that caddies would be allowed to wear shorts.
