After establishing a course record at Trinity Forest Golf Club on Thursday, Marc Leishman carried his impressive play into Friday, shooting a 5-under 66 to maintain his lead at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

"When you shoot a really low one like I did yesterday, it's hard to back it up," Leishman said in a post-round interview.

The 34-year-old added that he "left a few out there," but was still happy with his round.

The laid-back Aussie made his first bogey of the tournament on the par-4 15th, but responded well with a clean 4-under 32, setting a 36-hole scoring record at the Byron Nelson at 15-under par.

Leishman holds a one-shot lead over PGA Tour rookie Aaron Wise, while Brian Gay sits two back.

Wise continues his incredible rookie season, carding an 8-under 63 in Round 2. Wise is now 24-under par over his last six rounds on tour.

Gay made an impressive charge of his own Friday morning, carding a 9-under 62 to climb up the leaderboard.

Jordan Spieth shot a 5-under 66 to get well inside the cut line. However, he ended his day with a disappointing three-putt to fall eight shots off the lead, something that's been occurring more frequently with the 3-time major champion.
