Tiger cards 1-over 72 at 1st round of Genesis Open

Tiger Woods endured an up-and-down first round at the Genesis Open on Thursday, finishing with a 1-over 72 at Riviera Country Club.
The positive? Five birdies. The negative? Four bogeys, and one double bogey.
However, he did show improvement off the tee compared to his performance at the Farmers Insurance Open, hitting 8 of 14 fairways. It was his approaches that led him to shoot over par, as he hit just 7 of 18 greens.
While it may take some time for Woods to round into form, one thing is already clear: He still battles.
Debate good/bad Tiger all you want, but the one thing we've learned quickly this year - dude will still grind the hell out of a round. One of his best qualities his entire career.
