FedEx Cup top 30 set for Tour Championship
The field of 30 is set for the Tour Championship at East Lake.
Jordan Spieth clinched the top spot in the standings Sunday, posting a final-round 65 to finish in a tie for seventh at the BMW Championship, while Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Marc Leishman, and Jon Rahm round out the top five. Any player fifth or better in the standings can clinch the FedEx Cup and the $10 million bonus with a victory in Atlanta.
Rickie Fowler needed to birdie the 72nd hole Sunday at Conway Farms to move into the top five, but was unable to make an up-and-down birdie from the greenside rough.
Jason Dufner grabbed the last qualifying spot, edging Louis Oosthuizen by 0.72 points or exactly one stroke, thanks to a final-round 70.
Jon Rahm, Pat Perez, Brain Harman, Adam Hadwin, Kyle Stanley, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, and Patrick Cantlay will all be making their Tour Championship debuts.
