Hideki Matsuyama and Billy Horschel didn't begin their FedEx Cup playoffs on the right foot by missing the 36-hole cut at The Northern Trust.
Matsuyama was the No. 1 ranked player in the FedEx Cup standings coming into the event, but bogeyed two of his final three holes to miss the weekend by a single shot at 3-over.
Horschel, who won the FedEx Cup title in 2014 after missing the cut in the opener, is hoping for the same result, thanks to a 5-over par 36-hole total on Long Island.
Here's a look at who else failed to get inside the 2-over par cut line:
Player | Score | FedEx starting rank |
---|---|---|
Zach Johnson | (+3) | 42 |
Bryson DeChambeau | (+3) | 43 |
Adam Hadwin | (+3) | 13 |
Marc Leishman | (+3) | 14 |
Hideki Matsuyama | (+3) | 1 |
Branden Grace | (+3) | 90 |
Brenden Steele | (+5) | 16 |
Brian Harman | (+5) | 10 |
Bille Horschel | (+5) | 24 |
Ollie Schniederjans | (+8) | 39 |
Steve Stricker and Jimmy Walker were among those who were unable to qualify for next week's Dell Technologies Championship in Boston.
