Kisner keeps lead amid tough conditions at Quail Hollow

Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Kisner sits atop the PGA Championship leaderboard for the third straight day after battling to a 1-over 72 in difficult conditions Saturday at Quail Hollow.

After back-to-back rounds of 67 left him tied with Hideki Matsuyama entering Saturday's play, Kisner kept his composure while those around him struggled to narrow the deficit.

Despite bogeying the 18th, he holds a one-stroke advantage over Matsuyama and Chris Stroud, and sits two clear of Justin Thomas and Louis Oosthuizen.

Thomas was the only player in the top five to break 70 in firm and fast conditions at Quail Hollow, firing a 69 to move up the leaderboard. He sits one stroke ahead of Grayson Murray, who matched him with a 69 of his own, and a group of players five strokes behind at 2-under par.

With Oosthuizen the only player in the top 12 having won a major championship, Sunday promises to be a drama-filled day around the Charlotte-area venue.
