Twitter goes crazy over Spieth's absurd situation on No. 13
To those who claim golf lacks drama, we give you Jordan Spieth's adventures on the 13th hole at Royal Birkdale on Sunday.
The 23-year-old came to the tee tied for the lead with Matt Kuchar and promptly hit his drive miles to the right, into the thick rough and dunes.
He would then take over 20 minutes to decide what to do, eventually taking an unplayable lie and dropping in the practice range.
The entire situation made for riveting television, and sent Twitter into hysterics.
Holy smokes....This will beat Seve from the car park at Lytham!!! @TheOpen pic.twitter.com/kGdP8xgVAT

While you're by the #TMtourtruck, grab an #M1driver. Slide the weight to the heel and maybe avoid the right miss. #TheOpen

Humiliating for Jordan, but truly amazing TV. #TheOpen

Kuchar just minding his own damn business in the fairway. Some #TourSauce (I think?) with the towel laid down. pic.twitter.com/ZUhxNac2Dq

Spieth's good friend Justin Thomas supplied a pep talk of sorts on Twitter, urging his pal to somehow salvage a bogey.
A 5 here would be huge for JS. Avoid the big number and move on.. let's go!!

It appears Spieth heeded Thomas' words, as he miraculously made bogey on the hole.
