3 players to watch this weekend at the Travelers Championship

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Spieth continues to set the pace at the Travelers Championship at 8-under par heading into the weekend at TPC River Highlands. The world No. 6 leads by one stroke, but 85 players are within eight shots of the Texan with 36 holes to go.

Here are three players he'll need to keep an eye on this week in Connecticut:

Jim Furyk (-4)

The American Ryder Cup captain has been accurate off the tee, and with his approach shots onto the TPC River Highlands greens. Furyk has found the most fairways (24), hit 28 greens, and is tied for eighth in strokes gained: total (5.868).

Wesley Bryan (-6)

Bryan already has a victory to his name this year on tour, which also came on a Pete Dye design. The 27-year-old is tied for fourth in birdies (10), is fifth in putts per GIR (1.625), and is tied for second in strokes gained: total (7.868).

Daniel Berger (-5)

Berger successfully defended his title two weeks ago at the St. Jude Classic, and is back in the mix this week. The Florida native is seventh in strokes gained: tee to green (5.318), tied for eighth in strokes gained: total (5.868), and has missed just six greens through 36 holes.
