Rory McIlroy will be wearing the Nike swoosh on his golf apparel for a while, thanks to signing a new contract extension with the company.
“I’ve loved this company since I was a kid,” McIlroy said in a statement. “I’m really happy to continue this journey with Nike.”
McIlroy signed with the company in 2013 to wear the clothing and play with their equipment, winning two major titles in 2014, as well as the 2016 FedEx Cup. Last August, the company announced it would not be involved in the equipment aspect of the game, allowing Nike-sponsored players to sign with other club manufacturers.
Jason Day also signed with the company back in January, and the two are featured in a new Nike commercial with Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie.
