Henrik Stenson withdrew from The Barclays field after shooting a 3-over 74 in Thursday's opening round.

The reigning Open Champion and silver medalist from Rio 2016 cited injury to his right knee, which he had surgery on last December, according to PGA Tour field staff.

Stenson withdrew in the second round of the U.S. Open with knee and neck concerns.
