Three straight individual titles in Olympic athletics is an almost impossible feat - and one even the greatest all-around track and field star on the planet doesn't appear willing to try.
Ashton Eaton, the two-time defending champion in the decathlon who tied the Olympic record with his gold-medal triumph Thursday, said afterwards there's a less than 50 percent chance that he returns for Tokyo 2020.
Asked about his plans, the U.S. all-rounder suggested he hasn't looked that for ahead.
Eaton led the decathlon nearly wire-to-wire, his second Olympic title on the heels of the world record he set in the 10-event competition at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.
