When he wasn't dominating with Team USA on the court in Rio, Paul George was trying to meet another Olympian whom he could relate to.

The Indiana Pacers superstar had spent the past two years rehabbing his broken leg and attempting to return to his elite form.

When French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a gruesome leg injury of his own early during the Summer Games, George offered words of encouragement and vowed to meet him.

While it's unclear whether that meeting took place, the pair are keeping in touch over social media:

At 5-foot-4, Said could perhaps run the point behind new Pacer Jeff Teague.
