Nathan MacKinnon: Won't play Sunday
MacKinnon (knee) will not dress in Sunday's game against the Oilers. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors when they return to Colorado.
Analysis:
MacKinnon suffered the knee injury in Friday's contest against the Flames, but the severity remains a bit of a mystery at this point. The return of captain Gabriel Landeskog should assist in filling the void left by MacKinnon, but the Avalanche will certainly lose some punch with both he and Matt Duchene (knee) expected to miss out. His next chance to return arrives Thursday against the Flyers.
