Marian Hossa (leg) will either return to action Sunday against Detroit, or next Wednesday against the Blues

Head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters Wednesday that Hossa (leg) will either return to action Sunday against Detroit, or next Wednesday against the Blues, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

Hossa has been out since Feb. 15 with a leg injury, but resumed skating this week, and appears to be nearing a return to practice. It's been a down year for Hossa offensively, as the 37-year-old winger has only tallied 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 54 games. The former first-round pick's production could improve upon his return to the lineup, however, as he'll be returning to a top line that now includes recently acquired Andrew Ladd at left wing. Owners can expect an update on Hossa's status ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Red Wings.
