You know what they say: "Too many cooks spoil the broth."
Nowhere was that old adage more applicable than Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Friday night, when an impulsive linesman caused a game between the QMJHL's Charlottetown Islanders and Baie-Comeau Drakkar to end prematurely.
The officiating crew was working to fix a small, protruding portion of one of the on-ice logos when the linesman suddenly began ripping the entire banner, tearing up the ice.
The game was called after a long delay, giving the Islanders a 5-2 victory.
The lesson here is this: know your role.
