VIDEO: Rangers' McIlrath wastes no time challenging Flyers' Simmonds
Considering what happened the last time the New York Rangers played the Philadelphia Flyers, this wasn't exactly unpredictable.
Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds was ejected for punching Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh last Saturday and the Rangers captain hasn't played since due to a concussion, so it was only a matter of time before the Rangers sought retribution.
That moment came 39 seconds into Sunday's game, when Rangers defenseman Dylan McIlrath fought Simmonds in a lengthy, spirited bout after the two heavyweights exchanged some pleasantries in the pregame warmup.
The fight left Simmonds with a large gash over his left eye.

Twenty seconds after Simmonds and McIlrath traded blows, Rangers forward Tanner Glass took on Flyers center Ryan White.
There's clearly no love lost between these Metropolitan Division rivals.
